Quote of the Week:
When I get bigger, I'm going to drive a mocalotive (locamotive). I will wear a bigger striped jersey. Mommy, you can ride in the grain car."

Gymnastics & Sportball
Jack started Gymnastics lessons and "Sportball" last week! Organized athletic stuff! He learned front and backwards rolls and got to jump on a trampoline track. He did great on his first day. Sportball is also tons of fun for jack where he gets to learn soccer, basketball, football and baseball with "coaches" at WAYA (West Austin Youth). Today he got to throw passes and hold the laces.....of course he knew all that already ;)

Jack's Bathtime Quotes
While taking a bath, Jack routinely says some of the funniest things. Had to share a few.
Jack: "Mommy, what was that?" (as he created bubbles in the tub)
Amy: "That's your gas"
Jack: "What I smell? Oh! I smell my gas!!!"
Amy/Nanny laughing hard..
Jack (while pointing): "I say gas and you and you and me laugh... GAS!!" and then started laughing hard again.
la
Jack: "Where Mommy go?"
Mark: "Mommy is out with her girlfriends tonight"
Jack: "What girlfriend mean?"
Mark: "Sometimes girls call their friends their girlfirends and sometimes boys call girls they like their girlfriend"
Jack: "Maybe I call Aiden my girlfiend....then moments later he said "I call her a rocketship!" and then asked why he smelled his gas.....

Goodbye, Pa Jimmy
2 Timothy 4:6-7
6For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. 7I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
We said good-bye to my Pa Jimmy this past week. He passed away during the night on Monday, 12/29. The funeral was in Fort Valley, GA on 12/31. My Uncle Jimbo gave a moving and very sweet eulogy. And I loved Pastor Danny's words that he imagines a room in heaven that makes Books-A-Million look like child's play. And that's where Pa Jimmy will be.
I can hear Pa Jimmy's voice in my head as he said, "Hot dog!" (or "Hot Damn" if you were over the age of 12) and "Well, I'll be darned!" And "Gollllly!" Pa Jimmy let me smoke my first (and only) pipe. Don't remember exactly how old I was, but it was definitely sometime during elementary school. I always thought he was so fancy with his pipe in one hand, gin & tonic in the other and a library book propped in his lap. Pa Jimmy also taught me how to make music with a few crystal goblets filled with varying levels of water. Until I broke one of the goblets. Lesson over. Pa Jimmy's was also the first computer that I remember using. He had a Mac before they were cool. But my favorite memory is how he'd ring a bell that hung outside of the kitchen when it was dinnertime (or he had an important announcement). He'd yell, hoot, holler, stomp and ring that bell. Those were fun times.

Tagged again!
After finally getting a moment's peace and catching up on a little blog-reading, I realize that I have been tagged by Courtney!
Here are the rules -
1. Go to your pictures
2. Upload the fourth picture in the fourth file
3. Post the pic
4. Tag four friends
Here's my pic! Sweet Jack at 4 months old (a little creepy that the "4" theme continues....). I tag Kelley Loredo and Jana Anthoine!

A Christmas Miracle
Jack actually sat in Santa's lap at a Christmas party today!!! It was, indeed, a Christmas Miracle. Even though he sat in The Big Guy's lap, he still wanted Mommy to tell Santa what he wants for Christmas (a Tony Womo #9 jersey and helmet). Mommy was very happy to oblige in return for the great photo opp! When we left the party, Jack said, "I love Mommy, Daddy, and Santa! Oh, I forgot to give Santa a kiss goodbye!" (He'd already given him a goodbye hug!) Maybe next he'll overcome his fear of potties. Nah....
More pics with Father Christmas....

The Nativity.....according to Jack
This is Jack's nativity. We set it up and talked about The Christmas Story. Awhile later, Jack asked me to come look at the nativity with him. I thought, "Oh, how sweet." Well, he'd added his NASCAR cars to the scene. Notice how all of the nativity figures seem to be reverently "worshiping" the cars. Our sweet little redneck boy.
