Will's 1 year stats & Jack's "Weekend with Max"

Will had his 1 year well-check today. He's healthy and got a great report! Here are his stats for all you grandparents and Dr. Aunt out there:

Height: 30 3/4" (80%)
Weight: 22 1/2 lbs (50%)
Head circ: 48 (90%)

So, he's tall, thin and has a big head. Didn't really learn anything new there!

For comparison, Jack's stats at this age:
Height: 31 1/4" (90%)
Weight: 24 1/2 lbs (75%)
Head circ: 46.6 (55%)

Will can say these words (and this is the order he said them in):
Jack
Dada
Dog
Mama
Woof

He can clap, wave, and point and his favorite things to do now are to punch his birthday balloons and flip the lights witch off and on.

Jack's Weekend with Max:

Jack's teacher, Ms. Fleming, does this cutest thing. Each week she sends home Max (from "Where the Wild Things Are") with one of the kids. At the end of the weekend, they write about what they did with Max and include a pic or two in the Max Book. It's adorable! This is one of the pics that we included with our entry: Jack and Max eating pancakes and bacon on Saturday morning.

Our Little Monkey is ONE!!!

I truly cannot believe that it's been a year since our William Patrick (aka "Monkey") was born! We had a fun weekend celebrating our baby's milestone.

Will woke up on his birthday morning with a decorated doorway, a family tradition (can't see Will peeking through or the cute sign that I made for him that's on the door - bummer!):

Jack could not wait to give Will his birthday gift. It was so sweet! While I was changing Will's diaper, Jack ran downstairs, retrieved the gift and brought it back up. He was so excited! Here's Will with his new swing from Jack (it's resting in his new "big boy" chair from Nanny & Pop):

Will started the day with a chocolate birthday muffin. Will ate more of his than Jack did!

And for dessert Friday night: a birthday cupcake. He wasn't too interested. Too messy. Mom & Dad's "clean genes" shining through! Maybe he'll change his mind by bday party time next weekend....
And forgetful Mommy apologizes to GrandMary and GrandPat for not getting a pic of their bday visit on Friday evening. Thanks for coming by and for the fun gear toy, pj's and balloons.
And thanks to cousins Laurel & Landon for the balloon delivery!

Enjoying a beautiful day in his new swing. Big brother Jack loves to push!

We love you, Monkey!!!

Will @ 11 months

Will turned 11 months old today! I am seriously in denial that he's almost 1 year old! Where did the time go?!?

Posting a pic of Will jumping in his crib, rattling the side rail, which is how he starts his days. You can barely see his first tooth which has finally decided to show up!

1st Day Of School!

Boys in preschool = Increased productivity
The Blog is Back!!!

The Boys started preschool on Tuesday (Can I get an "AMEN"?!?)! Jack is in his last year in the big "4's" class (sob!) and Will is in the nursery. Ms. Fleming and Miss Beverlee are Jack's teachers and Will has Miss Holly and Miss Alesa. We're off to a great start!

The first day of school photo shoot was pretty short this year. Jack knew exactly where to sit and how to pose. Will was not interested at all. He just wanted to play with the stroller wheels! Here's what I got:

"Our HGTV Transformation"

Okay, so we weren't really on HGTV, but we should have been. Thanks to the awesome talent of Katherine Jones, Interior Designer and friend, we now have the wonderful family room we wanted. The before picture is from when we bought the house and the after is today.

Will at 4 Months

Will got an A+ at his 4-month well check. Here are his stats:

Weight: 15 lbs, 12 oz
Height: 26"
Head Circumference: 42.2
Eye Color: Dr. Dan thinks they'll likely be hazel (like Mommy), but brown is still a possibility....

Will is turning over from his back to his tummy already (!) and has been sleeping on his tummy for the past week. He is putting his feet in his mouth now and always has a finger or a fist in his mouth. He's razzing, laughing and "talking". Rice cereal has been a welcome addition to his mealtimes - he had the "eating from a spoon" thing figured out by the 2nd feeding. He's slept through the night a handful of times over the past few weeks. Woohoo!

The first cereal feeding (before things got messy):

Not so sure about this:

Grizzly McCripple...

....is Mark's new nickname at work. Three weeks ago, he injured his back while playing tennis. He thought he was Andy Roddick. Like Andy, Mark is an Austinite, has a penchant for Lacoste shirts, and is married to an Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover model, but that's where the similarities end. But seriously, I've seen him through a few orthopedic surgeries and quite a few sports injuries over the years, and this one was BAD. He spent the day after the injury in the ER on morphine and valium (after our sweet neighbor Matt practically carried him to the car). He was bedridden for 5 days. The injury was muscular (because he has degererative discs in his lower back, the muscles absorbed the impact) and he starts physical therapy next week. He didn't go in to the office for 2 weeks and also didn't shave for over 2 weeks!

So, I present to you GRIZZLY McCRIPPLE:

Will's latest tricks

All of a sudden, Will has gone from newborn to almost-4 month old (I refuse to round up. It goes fast enough already.). He's showing off many tricks these days: sitting up in the Bumbo seat & Exersaucer, mouthing everything, grasping toys (and feet), and looking adorable.

We're #2...

Its' true, yelling "we're #2" just isn't that fun, nor is watching in shocked horror as your legendary QB goes out injured never to return. Hard to complain too much about going to the Rose Bowl (again) and losing (now 2-1 there) when the Aggies played in Shreveport and OU was sent to El Paso ;) We had fun, despite the outcome with a enormous group of friends in LA and Pasadena. We stayed in the heart of Hollywood across from the Kodak Theater along the walk of fame, ate at a local diner but didn't have time to find A-list stars (although a friend sat 2 rows behind Reese Witherspoon at the game - she wore Orange). The trip from Hollywood to the game was in a 28-person limo-bus which made the trip easy, social and fun. For fun pre-game we played around at the ESPN Tailgate party and listened to the Goo Goo Dolls.

This was Mark's 4th BCS Bowl game to go to in 6 years so he's spoiled now and we hope to be in Phoenix on Jan 8th 2011 for the next title game (Go Gilbert!)
