Santa Claus is coming to town....
....specifically, to Lost Creek! The boys (I love saying "the boys", by the way!) sat in Santa's lap today at the Lost Creek Mom's Club holiday party. The beauty of this event? There was NO LINE FOR SANTA pics! Plus, it's the same awesome Santa every year who donates all of his Santa earnings to local non-profit Lifeworks.
Wondering "what's up" with Jack's hat? Jack wanted to wear a hat like his little brother (thanks for the hand-me-down outfit, Gage!), so he went to his closet and dug out this tam from Scotland that was Mark's when he was a boy. Fashionable, no?
In other exciting news, Jack gave Will a bottle for the first time today (first time for Jack to give it, not the first time for Will to have a bottle!).
Thanks to cousin Meredith & family for Will's adorable monogrammed Christmas bib!

Thankful
At school, when asked what he was most thankful for this Thanksgiving, Jack replied: "I'm thankful for tackle football with my dad!" This was then put on a sweet "thankful wreath" which he painted. Yes, he was the only kid in the class thankful for tackle football with his dad. What an original!
Jack is also thankful for his cousins! He had so much fun with Laurel & Landon this Thanksgiving.

Jack's expanding vocabulary
In the car the other day, we were listening to one of the country stations on XM Radio. I didn't think anything of it - country is pretty innocuous and I didn't think Jack really heard or understood all of the words anyway. Here's yet another example of Jack proving me wrong. One of my fave new groups, Zac Brown Band, was on singing a song called "Life is Good." It starts out like this:
Got my toes in the water, ass in the sand
Not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand
Life is good today. Life is good today.
Jack: "Mommy, What does ass mean?"
Mommy: "(crap!) It's a very, very bad word, Jack. We don't say it in our family."
Jack: "OK. But what does it mean?"
Mommy: "Well, it's another word for bottom. A bad, bad word for bottom."
Jack: "Oh, so I can say it in the potty then."
Mommy: "Actually, no, you can't say it ever. It is a naughty word and Zac Brown's mommy should give him a spanking for saying it."
Next day at preschool, Jack asks for help wiping his ass.
(Not really, but that's my biggest fear now!)
So now, we're back to the kid's channels only on XM....

The prophet Jack
Jack:
"Mommy, did you knoooow, that God told me that today is dessert at breakfast day?"
Mommy:
"Really? God told you this?"
Jack:
"Yes, Mommy. I heard Him. In my head."
Mommy:
"Well, then, it must be. Grab the cookies!" (I'm open to others' religious beliefs!)

Sip n' See for Will
My dear, sweet playgroup mommy friends threw a sip 'n see for Will and me. We spent a fun evening with Lost Creek friends eating fabulous food, sipping wine and adoring sweet Will. These gals have been such a blessing to me over the past 3 1/2 years since we moved to the neighborhood and I consider their friendships the best part of living in LC!
