In the car the other day, we were listening to one of the country stations on XM Radio. I didn't think anything of it - country is pretty innocuous and I didn't think Jack really heard or understood all of the words anyway. Here's yet another example of Jack proving me wrong. One of my fave new groups, Zac Brown Band, was on singing a song called "Life is Good." It starts out like this:
Got my toes in the water, ass in the sandNot a worry in the world, a cold beer in my handLife is good today. Life is good today.Jack: "Mommy, What does ass mean?"
Mommy: "(crap!) It's a very, very bad word, Jack. We don't say it in our family."
Jack: "OK. But what does it
mean?"
Mommy: "Well, it's another word for bottom. A bad, bad word for bottom."
Jack: "Oh, so I can say it in the potty then."
Mommy: "Actually, no, you can't say it ever. It is a naughty word and Zac Brown's mommy should give him a spanking for saying it."
Next day at preschool, Jack asks for help wiping his ass.
(Not really, but that's my biggest fear now!)So now, we're back to the kid's channels only on XM....
